Anchors and Daffodils

The signs of Spring are everywhere here on the coast. The daffodils are out in full force and the roses are sprouting new leaves. Our Spring yard includes large wide eyed mallows, spectacular fuzzy blue blossoms and beginnings of white wild strawberries. Less known are the spore releasing shoots of the horsetail ferns, a species still with us since the dinosaur days. The gooseberry pinks are hanging heavy. To enjoy the day, Gardener and Innkeeper Melanie is out pulling weeds, trimming off frozen branches, and placing summer bulbs.
